When they ask me what I liked best, I will tell them it was you.

2008
Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve and since I’m driving up to spend it with a few friends from University I won’t have time to comment on this year until it’s over. So I figured I would give a little “year end review” tonight. For starter’s- 2008 has been a year of change for me. I started the year off having not a clue where my life was leading, to ending 2008...

For some reason, a long time ago, you and I sat down and said that on this day, we would set everything aside and try to find some meaning in the chaos of the world around us.
So in spite of the people who will fight around you, the family members who’ll argue, the one’s who’ll tell you it’s all a waste of time and money, on your own or with someone else, you go out...
I appreciate you, every last thing about you from...

MIA
I’ve been sort of MIA the past week or so with all the busy-ness that goes along with the Christmas season. I’ve been visiting friends, family, boyfriend, boyfriends family etc etc etc.. So I have hardly had a second to myself in a while. I’ve been having a great time though over the past week and a bit and I had a great Christmas. I leave to go back out west in just a couple of...

The kindness of strangers
When I was trying desperately to get home for the holidays on the disaster that was my flight(s) home I was lucky enough to meet some really incredible people who helped more than I can explain in words. Traveling alone with everything going wrong, and knowing that there is actually a possibility I may not get home in time for Christmas, was an incredibly stressful situation.
At one point during...
What a disaster
I finally got home after two days of traveling last night. The airports were crazy- I had to deal with flight delays, broken down planes, inconsiderate workers and the prospect of not being able to get home until Tuesday. Buut- all is well now, I’m home and relaxing. It’s great to be back- to finally have my luggage- and I’m looking forward to seeing all the people I’ve...
On My Way
In a couple of hours I’m going to be heading back home for a two week Christmas vacation :) I can’t wait to see my friends/family that I haven’t seen since the beginning of the summer. I can already feel that time at home is going to fly by and it’s sad because I have no clue when I will be back. But, it hasn’t even begun yet so it’s not time to get sad yet! I...

“Oh, this is great. This is what I need - just what I need. Okay take it easy I’m sure it’s nothing. Probably rats on the track, they’re stopping for rats. Ugh its so crowded! How could there be so many people? This guy really smells. Doesn’t anyone use deodorant in this city? What is so hard, you take the cap off and you roll it on? What’s that? I feel something rubbing...

Relativity
When you’re used to seeing someone only sporadically because of the distance between you, saying goodbye for a week is no big deal, because it’s the norm. But when you’re used to seeing that person everyday, sharing everything- being together always- it’s actually sad to see that person leave for a week.
I’m home alone now- for two days. Will miss having wonderful...

7 years bad luck
I just found a piece of a mirror I broke the other day on my bathroom floor and was reminded of this pleasant little superstition.
Compartments
I think I read this in a book somewhere, just not sure which one, but it has always stuck with me. The person in the book said that everyone compartmentalizes their life and puts different friends/things into each individual “compartment”. This allows us to keep things separate or to allow things to run together as we wish. In some cases we are actually forced to compartmentalize when...

For the ones who look to the sky and imagine the possibilities. To the one’s who look at a pile of discarded garbage on the side of the road, and see art. Things I currently love:
-Endless hot cups of tea (right now my favorite kind is a green and white blend)

-Waking up earlier than usual and not having to rush to get ready for work
-Making cookies/french toast or other things for a special boy
-My two little girls who I get to see again tomorrow! SOOO excited!!! Keep in mind- they...

Ugh.
So today I went Christmas shopping and when I got home I really wanted to bake Christmas cookies. Soo we stopped at the grocery store on our way back and picked up what we didn’t have for the recipe and then had to go wait for another bus to come home. Keep in mind, that it is FREEEEEZING out here. Minus 20 at least, more with the wind chill. So walking outside and waiting for the bus...
George: Look, who are you?
Clarence: I told you, George. I'm your guardian angel.
George: Yeah, yeah, I know. You told me that. What else are you? What...are you a hypnotist?
Clarence: No, of course not.
George: Well, then, why am I seeing all these strange things?
Clarence: Don't you understand, George? It's because you were not born.
George: Then if I wasn't born, who am I?
Clarence: You're nobody. You have no identity.
George: What do you mean, no identity? My name's George Bailey.
Clarence: There is no George Bailey. You have no papers, no cards, no driver's license, no 4-F card, no insurance policy...They're not there, either.
George: What?
Clarence: Zuzu's petals. You've been given a great gift, George. A chance to see what the world would be like without you.
Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives. When...

One Week
So I’m heading home to the maritimes in one week from today for Christmas. I’m starting to get really excited and a bit anxious to get home and see everyone. This has been the longest time I’ve spent away from home at one time so it’ll be nice to get back and see everyone I care about. Since the time to go home is fast approaching I’ve been starting to feel grateful...

I’m nervous.
9:40am
I finally slept for about 2 hours, now I’m attempting to feel awake enough to get to work by 10:30. A nap will certainly be in order later on!
