Two of my favorite oscar nods this year:
Sooki from Gilmore Girls
and the chubby, funny kid from Superbad (who is no longer chubby!)
I’ll be rooting for them both on Oscar night!
Comic Sans
was my favorite font in grade 9. I used it in every presentation, paper, or project I could. I was that girl.
Shoe Help.
I’m debating between a few different pairs of shoes to wear to my wedding. I’m going to wear ballet flats and I want them to be yellow! Here are three options I’ve found so far- let me know what you think!
J Crew $146.00
Aldo $50.00
Old Navy $22.50

texturism:
there is a question i have been wanting to understand the answer to, but have been feeling that i simply can’t ask. eventually i just ask it anyway:
do you think there was a part of you that imagined the two of you would somehow end up together?
immediately, i wish that i hadn’t. the look on…
Haven In Paris →
This has me dreaming of a honeymoon in Paris…
A Few things.
It’s Tuesday and my blog has been pretty quiet ever since the holidays. Here’s a little update for this morning:
-Last night I watched the season finale of breaking bad (season 4)- OH MY GOD! Honestly am in love with that show and am dying for season 5 now.
-My new iPhone > my blackberry
-Siri got mad at me the other day- she’s a bit testy that one.
-Today Joey and I...
Nights like this
are when I wish I worked a Mon-Fri, 9-5. Gearing up for a three night work weekend… life of a nurse I suppose.

The Best Day of 2011
August 27th: The day I said yes.
The smiles on our faces tell it all. I don’t think I have ever been happier in my life and this picture, taken minutes after Joey proposed, shows how I couldn’t keep the smile off my face if I tried. I think about this moment a lot because it was perfect in so many ways (everyone says that, don’t they?). I hadn’t showered since the...
I bought a dress
over the holidays!! And by dress, I mean the dress. It was definitely one of the biggest highlights from my vacation- spending the day with my Mom and sister, trying on gowns (some that were just awful!) and finding the dress that had everything I was looking for. This whole wedding is starting to get more real by the minute and I couldn’t be happier or more excited!
First day back at work
and I’m feeling all the after-effects of a two week vacation home. I’m sad to no longer be around my family and friends on the coast and that my days are no longer dictated by doing whatever I want. Movies, nights out, hot tub parties, holiday get togethers, outings with my siblings- those are officially over as I head back to reality today. Hopefully this time next year I will be...

2011
I’m sad to see you go. The past year brought a lot of good things into my life. I began a career that I’m proud and happy to be a part of. I had some amazing visits with family and was able to surprise my parents for an unexpected vacation in July. I spent two wonderful weeks in Greece, a country I have always wanted to visit and was so much more in awe of it than I ever imagined I...
I thought that SMH
meant “So much hate”. Until I started to realize it doesn’t make any sense. I finally googled it and realized I’m just as bad as my future mother-in-law when it comes to understanding text lingo.
Things I have done instead of tumbling lately:
-holiday get togethers
-work
-four year old birthday parties
-Christmas shopping
-cookie-baking, hot-chocolate making and present-wrapping
-watching movies like Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, It’s A Wonderful Life, etc.
-reading The Secret Daughter by Shilpi Somaya Gowda (it’s soo good!)
-Christmas planning- things are going to be a little different this year, but...

– It’s A Wonderful Life
Making a pork roast
with homemade apple sauce and mashed potatoes tonight.
Just found out I’ll be eating alone… any one want to come over?!
I have ADD while cleaning.
This is what my morning has looked like:
-begin folding clean clothes
-leave couch to get a snack after two shirts are folded, start emptying the dishwasher while eating a cookie
-half the dishwasher is emptied and I wander to the bedroom to check my phone
-make the bed and put away clothes on the floor
-notice the floor is dirty so I start to sweep and end up in the living room, where I...
Fact:
Leftover chili > fresh chili.
The reason I'm so bad at directions
is because no matter what direction I am driving, I always think I am going North. I think this same brain glitch was why it took me forever to be able to tell time. Clocks and directions are hard, ok?

So ready.
It’s been three and a half years since we moved west to Alberta and I can safely say I am more than ready to move back now. I feel that everything we set out to accomplish here, we have, and there is nothing holding us to this city anymore. We both graduated again, started our careers and discovered that we are capable of building a life when all we had was each other and two suitcases of...
For supper tonight
I made homemade onion rings. They are and were just as delicious as they sound. Ate them far too quickly to manage to snap a picture, but next time (oh there will definitely be a next time!) I’ll show you the results!

Embrace winter.
I don’t think those of us living in Canada can deny the fact anymore: it’s officially winter. I’ve put away my ballet flats, packed away my summer dresses and pulled out my winter coats and boots. I have to admit I like what the early weeks of this season bring. It makes me want to curl up in front of the fire (if I had a fireplace that is…), put on my warm sweatpants with...

Michael Scott's
proposal on The Office always makes me cry. It’s so sweet and so very true to his character and that relationship.
He awoke each morning with the desire to do right, to be a good and meaningful...

I passed!
I’m officially an RN and am so relieved to have passed that awful national exam.

So,
putting up your Christmas tree on November 14th has become a thing? Really??
